Yountville Town Manager Update 10/11/17 4:45PM

Post Date:10/11/2017 4:45 PM

Town of Yountville Fire Update 10/11/17 as of 4:30 p.m.

Fire condition in Yountville remains unchanged.  Yountville is not threatened.  Four active fires are ongoing in Napa County at this time.  We continue to monitor the progression of the Nuns Fire from Sonoma County that has pushed up Mt. Veeder.  Higher winds from the north are anticipated later this evening and could change direction of the fire front more southerly away from Yountville but towards Napa.  Residents are advised to remain watchful.  Again, stressing there is no current fire threat to the Town of Yountville.

Residents with respiratory concerns or challenged by the stress of the ongoing fire situation are encouraged to leave the area and go to an area that is more comfortable for you until this situation is stabilized.

Yountville Community Center will continue to be open daily from 8 am to 6 pm as a place for the community to come and socialize and interact with fellow residents during this incident.  We will be having Popcorn Thursday as well.

Napa County Health and Human Services Department will have Spanish bilingual speaking counselors on site at the community center for those of you who may want to discuss this incident and the impact it is having on you or your family.

The Town is expecting a new delivery of breathing masks for distribution Wednesday mid-morning.

The City of Calistoga is now under a mandatory evacuation order as the wind conditions have the potential to push the Tubbs fire south into the city.  You should expect to see heavier traffic on CA 29 southbound as a result.

If you have not signed up for Nixle alerts yet, please text 888777 and put in your zip code or go to nixle.com to enroll.  Napa County and the Town of Yountville use nixle to provide timely information and emergency alerts to your cell phone and email addresses.
