Subject: New Art on Artwalk

The Yountville Arts Commission is pleased to announce a new addition to our public art walk!

Located in front of Petit Logis Inn and next to Bouchon Bakery on Washington Street is “Ascending”, a kiln fired glass sculpture by Dale Reiger. Reiger was born in Seattle, Washington, but grew up in Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington. With experience in poetry and painting, Dale shifted his focus to include kiln formed glass.

Ascending

Dale describes his style as both primitive and elegant. Themes from his paintings also flow into his glass. He uses elementary shapes which translate into symbols. These symbols help to create a highly personalized iconography drawing on Dale's artistic, spiritual and international background. Dale uses color, including iridized and dichromatic glass, as a language. Each color has its own code and texture.

This piece is generously loaned to the Town by the artist for a period of two years unless it is sold. We are grateful to all our Art Walk artists for their support of the arts in Yountville.
