Subject: Yountville Cross Road Paving Project Update - Work to Resume with a Road Closure to Include Local Traffic Only

Here comes the Sun! Over the past month, the rain has delayed the paving progress on Yountville Cross Road. Contractors need a full six day window of rain-free weather for the paving to be complete. The Town is pleased to announce that on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 paving will begin on Yountville Cross Road. The work will consist of grinding up the existing pavement and then stabilizing the road base using cement and placing new asphalt. Project working hours will be from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The road will be closed with local access only from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 15 minute delays can be expected during the construction process. Non local traffic will be detoured on Finnell and Yount Street. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes if they can to avoid delays. Each evening the road will be re-opened to normal travel.

The road will look like Madison Street which went through the same process a few years ago (see photo below). This phase is expected to finish by Tuesday, January 31, 2017 weather permitting. Once finished this will provide a pothole free road.

To help you plan ahead: Traffic advisories on CA-29 and Silverado Trail have been placed to notify vehicles of potential delays. For more information, please contact Joe Tagliaboschi, Public Works Director, Town of Yountville, at jtagliaboschi@yville.com

The Town will be providing project updates at www.townofyountville.com as well as on social media. Residents are encouraged to sign up for both the County of Napa and the Town’s Nixle alerts by visiting www.nixle.com

Madison Street (in between Yount and Jefferson) is a good example of what Yountville Cross Road will look like after the paving is done.
