Subject: Storm Preparation for Upcoming Storm
Sandbagging Station Open at Yountville Community Park

It’s February, and that means more winter storms! An atmospheric river (“Pineapple Express”) is expected to bring significant amount of rain over the next few days to our area. Due to the saturated ground conditions from previous storms, run-off could potentially lead to localized flooding. These areas may include: Vineyard Park, and the areas along the Flood Wall. Beard Ditch and Hopper Creek may back up as well.

Public Works crews will continue to monitor creek volume which will be affected by drainage from the hills after the rain stops. The Town will monitor drains and inlets and areas which are prone to localized ponding. We are asking residents to be aware of the following areas that are impacted by localized flooding:

• Oak Circle adjacent to Vineyard Park
• Oak Circle at Heather Street – *Residents may want to park vehicles on Mulberry or west of Hopper Creek if concerned about need to access vehicle.*
• Yount Mill Road at the cemetery
• Solano Avenue Hinman Creek (just south of the Fire Station)
• Finnell Road Neighborhood
• Ponding on Washington Street at California

Please use caution when driving in these areas and do not enter flooded roadways.

The following paths will be closed:
• Yountville Bike Path
• Path at Heather Street
• Path behind the Yountville Elementary School
• Pedestrian bridge on Finnell
This storm is also bringing higher winds with the potential for trees and debris to come down. Please take caution on the roadways, especially during the darker hours.

The joint Napa County/Town of Yountville self-serve sand bag station is open at the northwest corner of Washington Street and Grant Street at Yountville Community Park for residents wanting sand bags. Sandbags will be provided and are located in a bin, but we ask residents to bring their own shovels.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed by signing up for Nixle at www.nixle.com and by using the Town website at www.townofyountville.com, local and regional radio and television, weather services, and other reliable emergency information outlets.
In the event of an emergency, please call 9-11 or call the Sherriff’s Department at (707) 944-9228.
