Subject: New Art on the Yountville Art Walk at the Corner of Yount and Washington
Welcome, “Bountiful” (fruit)! The Yountville Arts Commission is pleased to announce a new addition to our public art walk!
Located at the corner of Yount and Washington is “Bountiful” by Peter Hazel. This sculpture replaces “Abundance”, which was also by Hazel. Peter Hazel has been working as a tile and granite contractor for over 28 years. He is a master craftsman well-known for his design expertise and creativity with color, layout, and grain matching.
The Arts Commission is lucky to showcase another piece by Hazel, “Two-Fish” located in Van De Leur Park.
Each Peter Hazel mosaic sculpture has been handcrafted for durability. All of the ceramics are handmade and fired at high temperatures to ensure that water cannot penetrate the structure and to ensure that freezing and thawing are not concerns. He uses epoxy grout guaranteed to last forever. Essentially, these sculptures are built to withstand the elements and last a lifetime.
This piece is generously loaned to the Town by the artist for a period of two years unless it is sold. We are grateful to all our Art Walk artists for their support of the arts in Yountville. To find out more about the arts in Yountville visit www.yountvillearts.com
