Yountville Arts is excited to present The Heart of Friendship Gallery Show in The Steve Rogers Gallery, opening with an Artist Reception and Celebration on Thursday, January 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Bring friends and family and join our 40 artists who have brought their art and stories of friendship to this show.

Under the 2024 Mustard Celebration umbrella, the opening Artist Reception will feature many official Mustard Celebration products such as wines by Bougetz Cellars, unique nuts by Napa Nuts and Vintage Sweet Shoppe chocolates.

Last Fall, Yountville Arts invited Napa Valley artist friends to pair up, create a work of art each, and tell us their story of friendship. These art pairings and their stories will be displayed in the Gallery.

“This show accentuates the value of both art and friendships to all of us. We are all busy and we often forget to reflect on a very valuable part of our lives that may matter most, our friends.” explains Ronda Schaer, Chair of Yountville Arts Commission. “It’s been my hope that participating artists have enjoyed the experience with each other as much as we have enjoyed working with them. The pairings are beautiful and the stories heartfelt.”

For instance, guests will enjoy the pairing of noted Napa Valley landscape artists BJ Thrailkill and Anne Garden. BJ Thrailkill finds beauty in ordinary objects and then frames images she paints into appealing compositions while Anne Garden loves to paint landscapes and animals. The two tell their friendship stories around their passion for protecting our trees.

Two former graphic designers Frank Trozzo and Michael Fitzpatrick paired to display their in-common abilities using colors to create moods and images to tell a story. Michael’s brush-stroke techniques and Franks’ rendering abilities surface in each of their paintings. The inspiration for The Heart of Friendship show incorporates one of each other’s paintings into their new painting as an homage to their friendship. Frank chose Michael’s painting for the 2024 Mustard Celebration and Michael chose a painting of Frank’s his called Dragon Bathtime.

When guests visit, they’ll see many other wonderful artists’ pairings such as Traci Sanderson and JD Miller, Michael Schaer and Jean Cullinane, Marissa Carlisle and Rosemarie Kempton and so many more. Many of the artists will attend the January 18 Artist Reception and Opening Celebration, offering a unique opportunity to hear their stories in person.

The Steve Rogers Gallery is located at 6516 Washington St, Yountville 94558. Gallery Hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.  with weekends and evenings available by appointment.
