Canine Commons Grand OpeningAs part of the interim use plan for the Yountville Commons site (formerly Yountville Elementary School), the Town has set up fencing and amenities for a new off-leash dog park. This park will be open while long-term plans are developed. Town staff has been busy enhancing the site with groundcover and improvements in preparation for the Grand Opening on Monday, August 19, 2024, at 6 PM. Dogs and their families are invited to celebrate this new community space. The 20,000 square foot enclosed park features two double entry gates and shaded seating areas from the old dugouts. Access is via the Hopper Creek Path from Finnell Road or through the playground/blacktop area from the west. The park offers a large open area for dogs to run and play, with fresh water available and temporary outdoor furniture in place until new seating arrives. As the formal planning process for the Yountville Commons site continues, we will assess how the dog park is being received and will make changes as needed. A citizen Canine Commons Liaison Group will oversee the park and provide feedback. For more details and to give feedback, visit the Town of Yountville Parks & Facilities webpage. We look forward to seeing you at the Yountville Canine Commons on August 19, 2024, at 6 PM!

NEW Parks and Recreation PROGRAMMED PICKLEBALL PLAY HOURS at Yountville’s Vineyard Park Starting August 19, 2024 The newly formed Yountville Pickleball Liaison Group met in July to discuss play times at Vineyard Park and is excited to announce new Programmed Pickleball Play Hours starting August 19, 2024. These hours, organized by skill level, will help players join games suited to their abilities. Based on feedback from over 115 survey responses, we’ve focused on equitable scheduling during peak morning hours in warmer months. The schedule will be reviewed seasonally by the liaison group. Outside the programmed hours, courts remain open for all levels until dusk daily, including weekends. A new Paddle Rack will soon replace the whiteboard for managing rotations and grouping. It will be installed at the entrance on the south side of the courts. We’re also setting up a calendar for volunteer coaches to assist during Beginner Play Time. If you’re interested in coaching, contact Parks and Recreation at sholland@yville.com or call 707-948-2627. For more information about Yountville Pickleball and indoor open gym times, visit www.yountvillepickleball.com.

Napa Valley Vine TrailResidents are invited to attend local town hall meetings to learn about the Yountville to St. Helena VINE TRAIL construction. Attendees will gain insights into preliminary route design, environmental and traffic studies, and the project timeline. They will also have the opportunity to share feedback with representatives from design and engineering consultants Kimley-Horn and RSA+, as well as the County of Napa, City of St. Helena, Town of Yountville, and Napa Valley Vine Trail Coalition. Since the initial meetings, the environmental and traffic studies have been expanded to complete the full EIR for CEQA and NEPA. Although the goal was to share traffic data and other information by April, this expanded scope has caused delays. As a result, the April meetings have been rescheduled to August. For more information on meetings dates and ways to get involved, visit the Napa Valley Vine Trail website.
