Volunteer Together

This holiday season, spread joy and build cherished memories with your family or friends by giving back to the community! Volunteering is a heartwarming way to celebrate the season and make a positive impact in Yountville and beyond.

Here are a few ways to get involved:

  • Lend a hand at a local food bank to help ensure everyone has a festive meal.
  • Support holiday events by assisting with setup, decorations, or activities.
  • Join a community cleanup effort to keep our town sparkling and inviting for the season.
  • Participate in a toy drive.

Volunteering not only brings people closer together but also nurtures a deeper sense of connection and purpose. Make this season one to remember by giving the gift of your time and kindness.

Toys for Tots at Fire Station 12: A Heartwarming Success!

The Toys for Tots Napa toy drive was a resounding success! Thank you to our partners CAL FIRE/Napa County Fire for bringing the magic to Yountville and special thanks to Napa Valley Wine Train, Shake Shack, Bring It Karaoke and Entertainment, and all the community members who joined us for the event.

Your generous donations will ensure that many children receive a special gift this holiday season with eight bins being filled with throughout items! Thank you for your kindness, support, and partnership in making this meaningful effort possible.

Compost more

Did you know that the majority of food waste ends up in landfills? During the holiday season, this waste increases by a staggering 25%. As food waste decomposes, it releases greenhouse gases like methane into the atmosphere. Methane traps heat from the sun, significantly contributing to environmental harm and accelerating climate change. In fact, food waste is the third-largest contributor to climate change in California. Over 7 million tons of food are discarded in California landfills annually—an astonishing figure.

Composting is a simple yet impactful solution. By composting food waste, we can dramatically reduce methane emissions and recycle valuable nutrients back into the soil.

What can you do to help? Start by purchasing only the amount of food you need this holiday season. Consuming what you buy is far better than generating excess leftovers. If you do have food waste, ensure it goes into your green compost bin rather than the trash, so it can be properly composted and diverted from the landfill. Small actions like these make a big difference for the planet!
