Honoring Wellness, Connection, and Purpose

As we approach Memorial Day, we are reminded that wellness is more than physical health. It is also about emotional resilience, meaningful relationships, and a strong sense of purpose—values that are at the heart of both the Blue Zones approach and our community here in Yountville.

Memorial Day is a time to pause and reflect on the service and sacrifices of those who came before us, especially the many veterans who call Yountville home. It is also an opportunity to slow down, reconnect with what matters most, and take intentional steps toward a more grounded, healthy way of living.

In Blue Zones communities around the world, longevity and quality of life are linked not just to diet or exercise, but to the strength of social ties, the power of daily rituals, and the sense of belonging within a community. These same principles resonate deeply here in Yountville.

As we honor Memorial Day, consider how wellness might look this weekend in your own life:

  • Take a moment for quiet reflection in nature—a walk along the Vine Trail or time spent in your garden.

  • Reach out to a neighbor or loved one, particularly someone who may be remembering a fallen friend or family member.

  • Reflect on the values that guide your life and how you can live with greater intention and gratitude.

Wellness starts with awareness. Whether you're reflecting on the past or looking toward the future, we invite you to carry the spirit of Yountville Blue with you this weekend and always.

Napa Valley College Piano Sale

Napa Valley College’s Music Department is teaming up with the Rockley Family Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports music education, to offer a special opportunity for the community to purchase quality musical instruments at reduced prices. Proceeds will directly benefit music students at the college.

The public is invited to browse and purchase a wide selection of instruments—including grand and baby grand pianos, digital and upright pianos, violins, violas, and cellos—at the Napa Valley College Performing Arts Center from Thursday, May 29 through Saturday, May 31.

Instruments range from beginner-friendly to performance-grade and feature well-known makers such as Yamaha, Steinway & Sons, Roland, and others. Most pieces are in like-new condition, include a service plan, and have been professionally tuned. On-site delivery and financing options will be available. In many cases, a portion of each purchase may qualify as a charitable donation to the Rockley Family Foundation.

You can make an appointment at 707-312-0041 or on their website.
