Proudly Serving: Seasonal PreparednessAs fall rains return to the valley, Town crews are out ahead of the weather conducting the annual flood gate installation training, clearing storm drains, and reinforcing the Oak Circle spillway to keep our community safe and connected through the winter season. This year, the Town is expanding its storm readiness at the Oak Circle spillway with new technology. A camera and early warning system will allow Town staff to closely monitor rising water levels and notify residents when overflow may impact the intersection, helping everyone stay informed and take appropriate action. Public Works Director John Ferons oversees these annual preparations with a focus on foresight and prevention. His team works year-round to ensure Yountville’s infrastructure is ready for the challenges of changing weather from storm mitigation and maintenance to communication systems that keep residents informed. These are the quiet actions that often go unseen but make all the difference when it matters most. Proudly serving Yountville means thinking ahead, acting with care, and working together to keep our community safe. Watch the video below to see how Yountville’s Public Works is gearing up for the changing season and learn more about the Oak Circle spillway.

Celebrating Young Artists, Inspiring Community
Art has a way of showing us how the next generation sees the world with curiosity, courage, and creativity. This winter, Yountville Arts invites the community to celebrate that spirit at the Youth Art Show, on view December 4 through January 5. Open to Napa County artists ages 5–18, the exhibition offers young creators a platform to share their imagination and talent with the community. It’s a reminder that art builds bridges between generations, inspires dialogue, and reflects the vibrant heart of Napa Valley’s future. To participate, artists are invited to email a photo of their work to yountvillearts@yville.com by November 9 for consideration. Selected participants will be notified by November 14. Artwork must be framed and wired for display at delivery. The community is invited to attend the Open Reception on December 4 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., where we’ll come together to celebrate creativity in its most authentic form through the eyes of our youth. A Simple Gesture: Make a Simple Gesture, Change a LifeWhen the cupboard is bare, hope can begin with something as small as a green bag. The A Simple Gesture Green Bag Program invites Napa County residents to join a growing network of neighbors turning generosity into lasting impact. Here’s how it works: sign up to receive a reusable green bag, fill it with non-perishable food items from the “most-needed” list, and place it outside on your assigned pick-up day. Volunteers collect the bags and deliver the donations directly to local food-pantry partners supporting families across Napa County. Why it matters: every filled bag is more than a donation — it’s a gesture of care, community, and shared purpose. With just a few small actions, you can help ensure that no neighbor goes hungry. To learn more or sign up, visit A Simple Gesture’s Green Bag Program and become part of this simple but powerful movement to feed hope in our community.
