Welcome to the Town of Yountville's Public Works Department

Mission Statement

The Public Works Department staff are the hard-working employees you see working day to day. The Public Works Department staff play very important roles during emergency situations. While police, fire, and EMS are often the three most recognized first responders, public works is also often silently there, providing vital support to emergency response partners, helping protect essential services, and restoring those services following an emergency.

The Public Works Department is split into three divisions, the administration staff, the municipal operations staff and the utility operations staff. The administration staff are designing projects, managing the budgets and permits, and coordinating the work for the field staff. When you call in to town hall it will be the         administration staff that takes your public works request.  The municipal and utility operations staff are the staff you see on the streets working on water leaks, sewer leaks, pothole or road issues, damaged street signs, flood preparation, storm water cleanup, trash cleanup, parks landscaping and maintenance.  

Department Purpose

With the administrative support of the Town Manager and Town Hall staff, the Department includes the Director of Public Works / Town Engineer, Public Works Supervisor, Utility Operations Supervisor, and a staff of seven technicians to operate and maintain all Town facilities. The Department also issues encroachment permits, reviews private development project applications, and oversees the design and construction of Capital Improvement Projects approved by the Town Council.
