Maddy Act – Local Appointments List

Overview

In compliance with the Maddy Act (California Government Code Sections 54970–54972), the Town of Yountville publishes an annual list of all appointed positions on Town boards, commissions, and committees. This list is intended to increase public awareness of local service opportunities and support transparency in the appointment process.

The following includes appointive terms that remain vacant from 2025 and those expiring during the 2026 calendar year.

The list is updated each year in December and includes current members, term expiration dates, and any known vacancies for the coming year.

Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission

Community Representative – Two-Year Term of Office
High School Member – One-Year Term of Office

Meets January, March, May, July, September, and November on the third Thursday at 4:00 p.m. in Town Council Chambers.

Yountville Arts Commission

Two-Year Term of Office

Meets the first Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in Town Council Chambers.

Affordable & Workforce Housing Oversight Committee

Two-Year Term of Office

Meets January, April, July, and October on the fourth Thursday at 3:00 p.m. in Town Council Chambers.

Yountville Community Foundation

Two-Year Term of Office

Meets January, April, July, and October on the fourth Friday at 3:00 p.m. in the Yountville Community Center.

Napa County Mosquito Abatement District – Yountville Representative

Two-Year Term of Office

Meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at 15 Melvin Road, American Canyon.

Napa Valley Transportation Authority – Citizen Advisory Committee

Two-Year Term of Office

Meets the first Wednesday bi-monthly at 5:00 p.m. at the NVTA Office, 625 Burnell Street, Napa.

Napa Valley Transportation Authority – Active Transportation Advisory Committee

Three-Year Term of Office

Meets the fourth Monday every other month at 5:30 p.m. at the NVTA Office, 625 Burnell Street, Napa.

Qualifications for Appointment

Pursuant to Government Code Section 54972(b):

Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission
Five members must be residents of Yountville. Two members may own or operate a business in Yountville. One high school member must be a resident of Yountville.

Zoning & Design Review Board (ZDRB)
Five members must reside in and be registered to vote within the Town of Yountville.

Yountville Arts Commission
Seven members must be residents of Yountville. Two members may be involved in a business or nonprofit operating in Yountville.

Yountville Community Foundation
The Board of Directors consists of five to nine members, including representatives from Town commissions and community organizations. Remaining members must be residents of Yountville.

Affordable & Workforce Housing Oversight Committee
Three Yountville residents, one lodging business representative, and one non-designated business representative. Business representative positions may be filled by a non-resident whose primary employment is with a Yountville business.

Mosquito Abatement District Board
One member appointed by the Town Council; must reside in and be registered to vote within the Town of Yountville.

Napa County Library Commission
One member appointed by the Town Council; appointment confirmed by the Napa County Board of Supervisors.

Napa Valley Transportation Authority Committees (ATAC and CAC)
One member appointed by the Town Council; appointment confirmed by the Napa Valley Transportation Authority.
