Welcome to the Town of Yountville Planning and Building Department!

The mission of the Planning and Building Department is to provide professional and equitable administration of the Town of Yountville's codes while fostering creative and diverse design and uses for an exceptional, safe, and livable built environment.

The Town of Yountville Planning and Building Department is responsible for providing planning, building, housing, environmental services, and code enforcement services. The Department's goal is to administer and fulfill the objectives of the General Plan, implement the Zoning and Design Ordinance, design climate action plan, provide applicants with efficient permit processing services, and provide citizens appropriate opportunities to participate in land use decisions.

The Planning division's public counter hours are Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Building Official's hours are Tuesday & Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Appointments are strongly encouraged to ensure that staff is available to answer your questions. As a part of our commitment to utilizing technology for improved customer service, in July 2022, the Town of Yountville launched an online permitting portal for all Planning & Building related applications. You can find that portal here: Get started online. While submittals are now digital, the Planning and Building Department may require hard copies of plans for some projects.
