Yountville Station Library - Napa County Library System

Prior to the Town of Yountville's Incorporation in February 1965, Yountville was first served by the County Free Library and then the Napa City-County Library. In August 2012, the Library changed its name to the Napa County Library. The Yountville Library is operated by the Napa County Library as part of a Lease Agreement.

The Yountville Library, in operation since 1977, was formerly housed in a single room in the Yountville Town Hall. In 2009, the Yountville Town Council and the Napa County Library, governed by the Napa County Board of Supervisors, agreed to the expansion and relocation of the library to the Yountville Community Center and provided a one-time contribution of $250,000 to assist with the expansion. The library opened at its current location in the new Yountville Community Center in March 2010.

The Yountville Library is the smallest of four in the Napa County Library system and provides the following collections and services.

The Friends of the Yountville Library

The Friends of the Yountville group was organized in 1987 to support the Yountville Library. Over the years, the membership has grown to nearly 100 members, consisting of individuals, families and businesses.

The Friends organization is focused on helping the Library in a number of ways including by raising funds, primarily through donations from our generous members and used book sales to help the Yountville Library purchase needed items, such as furniture, computers, and materials for the collection, and to sponsor programs for children; by assisting the Library in hosting special events; by maintaining an association of persons interested in libraries, focusing public attention on the library; by supporting and cooperating with the Library in developing library services and facilities for the community; and by supporting the freedom to read as expressed in the American Library Association's Library Bill of Rights and the Freedom to Read Statement.

Napa County Library Commission - Yountville Representative

The Yountville Town Council has identified, as part of its Strategic Plan, the importance of involving community members in the decision-making process. One of the many ways in which the Town Council supports citizen involvement is by appointing residents to various local and countywide Boards and Commissions. The Town Council appoints one Yountville resident to represent the Town's interests on the Countywide Napa County Library Commission for a three-year term.
